Vancouver city councilor since 2002. United Church of Canada Minister. Former member of the Legislative Assembly, Province of British Columbia (1996-2001) and Minister of Employment and Investment. Made headlines when it was announced he would attend the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia despite that country's laws which make public displays of homosexuality illegal. Partner of Gary Paterson.
