Founder, 'Wallpaper' magazine, subsequently purchased by Time in 2007. In 2001, he became the youngest ever recipient of the British Society of Magazine Editors' Lifetime Achievement Award. Columnist for Financial Times. Cultural and design commentator. Owner and Editor-in-chief of 'Monocle' magazine, which includes guide books, a chain of boutiques, coffee shops and a 24-hour digital radio station.
