Description
Chief Executive Officer, Human Dignity Trust since 2011. Human rights lawyer. Created and drafted the human rights and terrorism programme and manual for the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Litigator in LGBTQ issues, prisoner's rights, children's rights, and women's rights. Acted for applicants in establishing key human rights protection for trans people. Co-author of the UK’s Declaration of Rights for People Living With HIV/AIDS. Former legal director of Liberty and the Deputy Director of JUSTICE. Editor of the European Human Rights Law Review and he has published extensively on human rights related issues. Advises the Bingham Centre on the Rule of Law on education and training. Member of Doughty Street Chambers. Co-edited numerous books on the subject. Awarded an OBE for services to human rights (2007).
