Description
Author and poet. His collection of poetry 'My Vocabulary Did This to Me: The Collected Poetry of Jack Spicer' (2009) won the American Book Award for poetry. Works reflect his life in San Francisco as an informal member of the Beat Generation (which he often disputed) and the San Francisco Renaissance. In New York, he co-founded "6" Gallery which hosted the first public reading of works by fellow poet Allen Ginsberg.
