Associate Justice of the Minnessota State Supreme Court since 2016, being the first openly-gay judge in such position. Former at-large judge on the Court of Appeals (2012-2016). She also served as assistant dean at University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, as Deputy Attorney General of the Law Enforcement Section with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, and as an assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota.
