Daily and weekly newspapers have long been a valuable source of information, education, and entertainment for many. They have a rich tradition of journalism and writing that covers local, national, and international issues of relevance to the reader. Newspapers help individuals become informed and aware, and their content shapes opinions and beliefs. Having active LGBTQ participation and content in newspapers aids the process of breaking down barriers, eliminating stigmas, and creating acceptance for the community.

There is a rich history of that participation, as represented by the large number of LGBTQ individuals we have been able to identify who play a prominent role in the industry. These individuals are writers, critics, columnists, editors, contributors, staff members, and owners who present on topics including sports, politics, food, art, opinion, business, and more.

By far, the most popular newspaper for LGBTQ contributors is The Guardian, followed distantly by The New York Times, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph, and the Los Angeles Times. Nevertheless, there is a wide range of local and international newspapers on the list.

The breadth of countries on the list with a notable LGBTQ newspaper contributor is also impressive.
